Doctor by the Universidad de Oviedo with the thesis La traducción de la entonación y la prosodía en las voces superpuestas (voice-over inglés-español) estrategias, recursos y prácticas profesionales. Translating intonation and prosody in english-spanish voice-over: strategies, resources and professional practices 2020. Supervised by Dr. Marta Mateo Martínez-Bartolomé.

Alfonso Carlos Rodríguez Fernández-Peña holds a PhD in English Philology from the University of Oviedo (2020), a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics for Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Jaén (2013), and a postgraduate degree in Proofreading and Spanish Language Consulting from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (2024). He holds the CELTA certificate for English teachers and the IPA Certificate in the Phonetics of English from the International Phonetic Association (2013). Work Experience: He has worked as an English teacher in secondary education in France through the Comenius mobility grant (2008/2009), as an English teacher at Access College London (2009/2011), as an English for Specific Purposes instructor at the European University of Madrid (2011/2015), and since 2015 at the University of Oviedo, where he currently works as an Assistant Professor. Teaching Areas: Legal English Audiovisual Translation Specialized Translation Localization and Translation English Intonation English Phonetics and Phonology English for Tourism Industry Experience & Knowledge Transfer: Alfonso also works as a professional translator and voice-over artist. He has translated for dubbing the movie Pottersville (2017), as well as the documentary series UnWell (2020) and Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons (2020). Additionally, he has translated audio guides for stadium tours of Anfield (Liverpool FC) and Etihad Stadium (Manchester City FC). He also translates the news programme Europe Weekly by ARTE. As a voice-over artist, he has provided voices for numerous characters in productions such as: The Last Dance Connected Trump: An American Dream Derren Brown: The Push The Story of Diana The Royal House of Windsor
