Abstract

Once the first batch of graduates in Engineering have completed their studies within EHEA framework, as their training -compared to that of the previousclasses- is based on the acquisition of competences, a revision our teaching learningmethods is required; we need to question whether they are or are not focused on the acquisition of the competencies demanded by the current world. In this work, specific methodological proposals are presented for the Mathematic scourses within the area of Engineering; their purpose is to work and evaluate some mathematical competences that, as we have detected during the last courses, are quite scant among the students entering engineering degrees. We especially emphasize the following: thinking and reasoning, arguing and communicating mathematically.
