Abstract

The implementation of active learning methodologies that encourage the participation of students in the classroom has received great research effort for many years. Nowadays, information technologies are commonly used to support all agents in the teaching-learning process. In this context, an Innovative Teaching Project is being developed to improve the participation of students in the subject Multimedia and Interactive Services within the Degree in Engineering in Technologies and Services of Telecommunication. The project focuses on two aspects: 1) the active attendance to the lectures and classroom practices, and 2) the degree of involvement in the development of group work. To achieve the objectives, gamification and cooperation strategies tools are used. The results of the proposed methodology show a notable increase in both the participation of students and their academic results.
