Abstract

In this work we study the global and partial group actions of topological groups on topological spaces. We present the basic concepts and their properties, together with enough examples to understand the theory. We introduce the concept of globalization of a topological partial action and we show that any topological partial action arises from the restriction of a minimal globalization, which is called an enveloping action. Finally, we explicitly show several examples of topological partial actions and we construct their enveloping actions in full detail.
