Andrea Martínez Noya is Associate Professor in the Management Department at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Oviedo (Spain) where she completed her PhD with distinction in 2008. During her PhD she was a visiting student at the Wharton School in the University of Pennsylvania, and since 2012 she is a Dunning Fellow, recognition awarded by the John H. Dunning Centre for International Business at the Henley Business School (University of Reading, UK). From 2012 to 2019 she held the position of Academic Secretary of the University of Oviedo Business School IUDE, in which she co-leaded the Executive MBA program. She has extensive experience teaching courses related to strategic management, with a special focus on entrepreneurship and innovation. Her research is mainly focused on internationalization and cooperation strategies on R&D, especially by technological firms. She has participated in more than 40 international conferences and her research received several distinctions, such as the "Best Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Award" by the Academy of International Business, "Premio Enrique Fuentes Quintana" awarded by FUNCAS, "Barry M. Richman Best Dissertation Award Finalist" of the International Management Division at the Academy of Management, among others. Her research has been published in top journals in management and innovation, such as Research Policy, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of International Management, International Business Review, Journal of Knowledge Management, R&D Management, Industry and Innovation, or Business Research Quarterly, among others. Within the department, she belongs to the international management research team "Growth Strategies and Internationalization" (GESCRINTER) at the University of Oviedo (since 2004 to present) where she participated in numerous national research projects. Currently, she belongs to the International Management Board of the European Project “Building Ecosystem Integration Labs at HEI to foster Smart Specialization and Innovation on Raw Materials” (UE-22-HEI4S3-RM-10046), where she coordinates the implementation of an Ecosystem Integration Lab for Experimentation and Innovation at the University of Oviedo.
