With extensive fieldwork experience in The Gambia, Chile, Morocco, Haiti, RD Congo, Turkey, Romania and Spain, my lines of research revolve around five main axes: (1) informality, personal networks and livelihood strategies; (2) (im)mobilities and transnational migration; (3) humanitarianism and development; (4) sports and play; and (5) research methodology. I have worked at the University of Iceland (2021-2022) as a postdoctoral researcher within the CERM project (Creating Europe Through Racialized Mobilities), led by Kristín Loftsdóttir, following migrant trajectories along the irregular Atlantic migration route to the European Union from west Africa. Then I had a post-doctoral Margarita Salas grant (2023) at the University of Oviedo (Uniovi) and Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Currently, I am working as an assistant professor at the University of Oviedo, Departament of Sociology - Social Work. I hold a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) with a thesis entitled "Mobility, Informality and Networks in Transnational Social Fields" (Cum Laude and Extraordinary Doctorate Award). My PhD was funded by an FPI pre-doctoral grant, and I participated in the ORBITS research project “The role of transnational social fields in the emergence, maintenance and decline of ethnic and demographic enclaves”. My research has been published in peer-reviewed international journals such as “Social Anthropology”, “Mobilities”, “Social Inclusion”, “Migration Letters”, “Politics and Governance”, “Mortality”, “Globalizations”, "Third World Quarterly", "Focaal" and "Critique of Anthropology". Also I have been the main editor (2018-2021) of the journal Perifèria, Revista de Recerca I Formació en Antropologia https://revistes.uab.cat/periferia , and I have been the co-chair of the SIEF Working Group on Migration of Mobility between 2019 and 2023.
