Resumen

Las apuestas deportivas dependen en gran medida del bienestar de la industria deldeporte, con la que mantienen una relación de codependencia y a la que aportan beneficiosy riesgos. Recientemente, el desarrollo de este mercado ha sido condicionado por la expansiónde oportunidades de juego, los avances tecnológicos y una mayor disponibilidad desitios de apuestas en Internet, así como por los efectos derivados de las restricciones adoptadasa raíz de la pandemia de COVID-19. Este artículo ofrece una visión económica de laevolución reciente y el estado actual de la industria española de las apuestas deportivas.
