Abstract

The formerly known as Aggressive periodontitis (AgP) affects young people with a non-contributory medical history and self-reported familiar aggregation and is characterized by a rapid attachment loss and bone destruction . Recently, the results of the \World Workshop on Periodontal and Peri-Implant Disease Classification" were published, to update the classification of periodontal diseases. AgP could be included in periodontitis stages III or IV, and in grade C or rapid rate of progression. This project was designed with the aim of assessing alveolar bone destruction and tooth loss in patients treated for AgP and to identify risk factors for that loss (Study 1). Also, a systematic review and metaanalysis was performed to evaluate the efficacy of regenerative therapies for the treatment of periodontal intrabony defects in AgP (Study 2).
