Resumo

The Tor-Casamanya Syncline ¡s made up of Silurian and devonian rocks of Sierra Negra subfacies area including all lithoestratigraphical units that are been defined in the type outcrops from the Esera valley with the only exception of the Fonchanina Formation. The geological map of this unit has allowed us to recognize that the Civis Fm outcrops in the central syncline area whereas the Castanesa Fm is represented in the whole study area. The Devonian succession of the Tor-Casamanya syncline is slightly more carbonated than the standard succession of the Sierra Negra subfacies. The geological map linked with a better knowledge of the devonian formations suggest that the structure of this syncline can be explained by the superposition of two different folding and thrusting phases with E-W trend. The first folding phase, recognized in the northern limb of the TorCasamanya syncline, is characterized by a north-verging folds, with an associated S I foliation. These folds are affected by latter south-verging folds, whit an associated S2 foliation. This foliation is the main one of the Tor-Casamanya Syncline.
