Abstract
Geomorphological evidence of glacial features in Cantabrian Mountains (N Spain) reported since the beginning of the XX century allows the reconstruction of an icefield that was probably active during the Last glaciation, with glacial tongues flowing towards to the North as well as to the South, where they reach their highest development. As an example, we present in this work glacial evidence in the Redes Natural Park (North slope of Cantabrian Mountains), where a phase of glacial maximum can be recognized, followed by other two phases of glacial fronts retreat and stabilization. Also, we describe a useful itinerary to recognize glacial geomorphology in the Northern Slope of the Cantabrian Mountains: the surroundings of Covadonga Lakes, in the Western Massif of Picos de Europa.
