Historia
El Departamento de Historia es la unidad encargada de la docencia y la investigación en las disciplinas históricas dentro de la Universidad de Oviedo. Para ello, el personal del Departamento se encuentra dividido en siete áreas de conocimiento desde las que se coordina su actividad: Arqueología, Ciencias y Técnicas Historiográficas, Prehistoria, Historia Antigua, Historia Medieval, Historia Moderna e Historia Contemporánea. Docencia e investigación son las dos actividades fundamentales del profesorado universitario del Departamento, así como las labores de difusión de la Historia en la sociedad, aspirando a servir de punto de encuentro para las personas e instituciones que cultivan la Historia en Asturias y en el resto del mundo
