Cristian González García is an Associate/Senior Professor in the Department of Computer Science, University of Oviedo (Spain). He is a Technical Engineer in Computer Systems, MSc in Web Engineering, and PhD in Computers Science. His doctoral thesis focused on the Internet of Things (IoT). He has published 28 journal articles, 18 conference papers, and 3 book chapters, and has served as editor for 3 books. Additionally, he has been an advisory member for a journal, 2 books, and an international conference. Among his articles, 16 are indexed in JCR (5 Q1, 6 Q2, 2 Q3, 2 Q4), 17 in Scimago (10 Q1, 5 Q2, 2 Q3), and 17 in JCI (5 Q1, 7 Q2, 3 Q3, 2 Q4). His journal publications have focused on IoT and Machine Learning, while conferences/workshops have centered on teaching innovation. He has led 7 teaching innovation projects and participated in 4 others. He has supervised more than 90 final degree and master’s projects, is currently supervising 1 PhD thesis, has 1 Erasmus agreement, and serves as editor of 2 Special Issues and reviewer for several journals. He has completed research stays as a PhD student at the University of Manchester (3 months and 2 weeks), and as a visiting professor at the University of South Florida (15 days and 1 month) and at Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon, 2 months), collaborating on various projects and co-authoring publications. He has participated in several projects: European (1), national (4), and regional (1), as well as with private companies (ArcelorMittal, Investigación e Inversión SL, ZED WORLDWIDE, and Factory Holding Company 25 SL), and collaborated on projects funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). He has published work derived from these projects. He has shared part of his research in prime-time television interviews on TV Asturias. His research interests include the Internet of Things, Web Engineering, Mobile Devices, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Modelling Software with DSL and MDE, and Teaching Innovation.
