Doctor by the Universidad de Oviedo with the thesis Control, Diagnosis, and Monitoring of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines Using Search Coils 2024. Supervised by Dr. David Díaz Reigosa, Dr. Juan Manuel Guerrero Muñoz.

Marcos Orviz (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering, the M.S. degree in electrical energy conversion and power systems, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, from the University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain, in 2018, 2020, and 2024, respectively. In 2022, he was a Visiting Researcher with Korea University, Seoul, South Korea. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Computers and Systems Engineering, University of Oviedo. His research interests include electric machines control, diagnosis and monitoring, and digital signal processing. From 2021 to 2025, he was a Board Member of the IEEE Student Branch Chapter IAS/PELS/PES, University of Oviedo.
