Doctor by the Universidad de Oviedo with the thesis Estudios multiescalares sobre la Alta Edad Media en el Valle del Trubia (Asturias, España) 2011. Supervised by Dr. Francisco Javier Fernández Conde, Dr. Margarita Fernández Mier.
I am an interdisciplinary researcher and creative practitioner whose trajectory interweaves the humanities, social sciences, and sound-based artistic practice. Holding a PhD in History from the University of Oviedo, my research spans archaeology, cultural heritage, ecomuseology, and the environmental humanities. Since 2021, I have been a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the University of Oviedo, and I collaborate as an Honorary Research Associate at University College London (UCL) and as a lecturer at the National University of Distance Education (UNED). Since 2012, I have directed La Ponte – Research Centre and Ecomuseum in Asturias, a space awarded the Hispania Nostra Prize for Best Practices in Cultural Heritage. There, I lead projects that integrate academic research, community engagement, and artistic creation. My sound-based artistic practice bridges vernacular traditions and contemporary experimentation, drawing on popular sonic expressions to explore their resonance within current musical and creative contexts.
