- Full Professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis in the Department of Economics at the University of Oviedo (ES) and course tutor in the National Distance Education University (UNED, ES) - Member of the Responsible Gambling Advisory Council (Government of Spain) - PI of the University of Oviedo research group: Economics of Leisure, Culture and Sports (ELCS) - PhD in Economics (University of Oviedo, Spain). Thesis title: “The demand for gambling: Empirical evidence from state-operated lotteries and football pools in Spain” (http://hdl.handle.net/10803/77899) - Research fields include empirical microeconomics, the economics of leisure an tourism, the economics of gambling and sports economics. - More than 40 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including high impact journals ranking Q1/Q2 in Web of Science (WOS), such as Journal of Transport Geography, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series C (Applied Statistics), Economic Modelling, Journal of Economic Surveys, Papers in Regional Science, Tourism Economics and Journal of Gambling Studies, among others. - Research contracts with the Spanish National Lottery Agency (Loterías y Apuestas del Estado) to investigate on the field of the demand for lottery. - Grants from the Spanish government to research about individuals' behavior (in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra) - UEFA Research Grant Holder (2017/18)
