Doctor by the Universidad de Oviedo with the thesis Caracterización de componentes en uniones con perfiles RHS a alta temperatura 2009. Supervised by Dr. Francisco José Suárez Domínguez, Dr. Miguel Angel Serrano López.

First national degree prize in 2001 for Industrial Technical Engineering (Univ. of Oviedo). Industrial Engineer (Mechanical) at the University of León (2003). PhD Industrial Engineer from the University of Oviedo (2009) with a thesis on steel joints,. Professional experience in the steelmaking industry and as a structural engineer. Researcher on joints in steel structures and recycled concrete. Principal researcher in some of the latest projects at the University of Oviedo related to steel joints. Co-director of three doctoral theses, being another two in development. Co-author of a total of more than 30 publications indexed in the ISI JCR on these topics and more than 40 publications or presentations at international conferences. Senior Lecturer since 2017.
