Doctor by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Long waves and their effects on vessels at the port of Ferrol 2014. Supervised by Dr. Jose Gregorio Iglesias Rodríguez.

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering and a member of the Dynamics, Materials, and Structures research group (DyMAST) at the University of Oviedo in Spain. My research interests include the numerical assessment of coastal and offshore floating structures, such as breakwaters, renewable energy systems, and aquaculture. After completing my civil engineering studies and gaining work experience in both the public and private sectors, I began my research career at the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2010. In 2014, I earned my PhD in Engineering on the topic of "Long Waves and Their Effects on Vessels at the Port of Ferrol". A few months later, I was granted a Post-Doctoral Program by the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal to develop a wave energy conversion system in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto. In 2016, I joined the University of Oviedo as a teaching-research professor and established a research team focused on offshore technologies. To date, I have collaborated on 20+ public and private projects and authored 30+ journal papers in JCR-indexed journals. Between 2019 and 2023 I was the principal investigator at my institution for PORTOS, a European project that has contributed to the development of marine renewable energy in ports. Regarding my teaching experience, I lecture on several courses related to continuum mechanics and structures at both BSc and MSc levels in the Polytechnic School of Mieres. Since 2022, I am serving as the Vice-Dean for Quality and in the past I was the director of the MSc in Civil Engineering. I am also the organizer of the summer course on Marine Renewable Energy.
