Doctor by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Long waves and their effects on vessels at the port of Ferrol 2014. Supervised by Dr. Jose Gregorio Iglesias Rodríguez.

I am Associate Professor in the Dept. of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering and member of the Dynamics, Materials and Structures research group (DyMAST) of the University of Oviedo (Spain). My research interest is the numerical assessment of coastal and offshore floating structures (including breakwaters, renewable energy and aquaculture). I completed my PhD in Engineering on the topic “Long waves and their effects on vessels at the port of Ferrol” in the University of Santiago de Compostela (2014). In 2015 I was granted by the Post-Doctoral Program of the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal for the development of a novel wave energy conversion system in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Since 2016 I am working in the University of Oviedo where I started a research team on offshore technologies. Apart from having collaborated in more than 20 public and private research projects and authored 25 journal papers in JCR-indexed journals, I am the principal investigator in my institution of PORTOS, an European project to foster marine renewable energy in ports. I lecture several courses on continuum mechanics and structures at BSc and MSc levels in the Polytechnic School of Mieres, where he I am Vice-Dean for Quality since 2022.I am Associate Professor in the Dept. of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering and member of the Dynamics, Materials and Structures research group (DyMAST) of the University of Oviedo (Spain).
