Doctor by the Universidad de Oviedo with the thesis Estimación de par en máquinas síncronas de imanes permanentes / torque estimation in permanent magnet synchronous machines 2020. Supervised by Dr. David Díaz Reigosa, Dr. Daniel Fernández Alonso.
Maria Martinez (M'20-SM’15) received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain, in 2017 and 2020, respectively. She is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Computers and Systems Engineering, University of Oviedo and an AECP research group member. She was an Intern at the Nissan Advanced Technology Center, Japan, in 2019, and a visiting student in Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2015. Her topics of interest include machine diagnostics, wireless measurement systems, sensorless control and digital signal processing. Dr. Martinez received an IEEE IAS student non-PhD thesis contest 2018 award due to her Master thesis and she was one of the winners of the IEEE PELs Ph.D. Thesis Talk Award 2020 and the PhD outstanding award from the University of Oviedo in 2021.
