Doctor by the Universidad de Murcia with the thesis A CoaP-Based Bootstrapping service for large-scale Internet-of-things networks 2018. Supervised by Dr. Rafael Marín López, Dr. Antonio Skarmeta Gómez.

I am an Associate Professor in the area of telematics of the computer science department of the University of Oviedo. I got my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Murcia in 2012, MS in New Technologies of Computer Science from the University of Murcia in 2014, where I did an Erasmus practice stay for 6 months in Philips, Eindhoven, Netherlands. I got PhD in Computer Science from the University of Murcia in 2018, where I began as pre-doctoral researcher at the University of Murcia and during that time I did a pre-doctoral internship in NEC Europe, Heidelberg, Germany for 3 months and achieve the International mention of the PhD. I finished my PhD in a Spanish company named Odin Solutions, a spin-off of the University of Murcia, thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Economy (MINECO) to get the Industrial Doctorate mention. I was a postdoc in Odin Solutions, where I continued my research related to security, privacy, authentication, authorization in the Area of IoT. Also, exploring emerging technologies such as LP-WAN and how they can benefit from additional security layers that are not being considered by design due to their limited capabilities. During that time I participated in H2020 projects such as ANASTACIA and PlugNHarvest. Currently, I am serving as a TPC member of several recurring International Conferences such as the International Symposium on Security and Privacy on the Internet of Things (SPIoT) and Global IoT Summit (GIoTS). I also serve as Topic Editor in the Editorial MDPI in the Applied Science Journal where I also one of the guest editors of a Special Issue. I am also actively collaborating in the IETF in the ACE working group and the IRTF in the T2TRG.
