Doctor by the Universidad de Oviedo with the thesis Nuevas aportaciones para la optimización y diseño de correctores del factor de potencia para el cumplimiento de la norma EN 61000-3-2 2008. Supervised by Dr. Javier Sebastián Zúñiga, Dr. Arturo Fernández González.

Diego G. Lamar was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1974. He received the M.Sc. degree and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oviedo, Spain, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. In 2003, 2005 and 2011 he became Research Engineer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor respectively at the University of Oviedo. Since April 2022, he is Full Professor at the University of Oviedo. He has developed his teaching activities in different degrees: Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Engineering. His contributions are focused on the field of switching-mode power supplies and power converters. His main research interests include converter modelling, power-factor-correction, ac-dc converters, dc-to-dc converters, drivers for VLC_LED applications and the use of wide band-gap semiconductors in power converters. He has been involved in more than 40 research projects with public funds (from the European Union and the Spanish Government) and private funds (Alcatel Spain, Chloride Power Protection, Behringer, AEG, thyssenkrupp, Collins Aerospace, etc.), being the team leader in several cases. He has co-authored more than 220 papers (among them, more than 50 papers in international journals and more than 170 papers in conferences). He has been advisor of 4 Ph. D. Thesis. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, since 2016. He currently serves as reviewer for many IEEE Journals and Conferences.
