I have a degree in Economics and Business Sciences (1995) and a PhD in Business Administration and Management (2000) from the University of Oviedo. I was an Associate lecturer from 1995 to 2002, year in which I obtained the position of senior lecturer in Financial Economics and Accounting at the University of Oviedo. Within my professional career, I have served as Regional Minister for Finance of the Government of the Principality of Asturias during the period 2019-2023, that has been linked to the development of multiple tasks associated to policy and management in the budgetary, financial, and tax fields, accountant and auditor, European affairs. I have also held various university management positions: the academic secretary of the University Institute of Business (2002-2009), the coordination of the Master's Degree in Information Systems and Accounting Analysis (2008-2014), the coordination of the Doctorate Program in Systems of Accounting Information at the University of Oviedo (2013-2017) and the vice deanship of Quality at the Faculty of Economics and Business in 2019. Regarding my research activity, I have made various contributions in the fields of Public Accounting, Analysis of Accounting Information, Transparency and Accountability and, more recently, the measurement of Quality of Life at the municipal level. My research work has been articulated through several research projects, two of which are part of the National R&D&I Plan, acting in one of them as Principal Investigator. The research results have been presented in 43 presentations at national and international conferences, and have given rise to 46 publications. I currently have 3 six-year research periods recognized. I am part of two associations linked to research and teaching in Accounting (AECA and ASEPUC).
