Dr. Susana ÁLVAREZ-OTERO is Associate Professor of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business. University of Oviedo (Principality of Asturias. Spain). She has many years of experience from various international universities (UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, QUEEN MARY UNIVERSITY OF LONDON, among others) as well as at the corporate level. She has published research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, out of which an important number are Q1 publications in Web of Science, and presented several research papers at many prestigious international conferences. She has also coordinated and co-authored several books (both in Spanish language and in English). Furthermore, she has also written more than 40 articles and book chapters, which are published in different countries. Dr. Álvarez-Otero is reviewer and editorial board member of various International Finance journals, including Q1(Scopus) journals. During her academic career, she has often spent time abroad as a visiting professor working at prestigious universities and giving lectures and conferences at many universities and international conferences (eg., University of Cambridge, Queen Mary University of London, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Applied Sciences (Emden, Germany), Tampere University (Finland), among others). She has participated in many research projects at national and regional level and is the recipient of two national awards for Finance Research. She has cooperated with BME (Spanish Stock Exchange) writing professional reports based on her experience and academic research in Initial Public Offerings. She has been member of the Advisory Board of the country's fifth largest bank in Spain for five years, based on her financial experience and knowledge. She has passion for teaching (-top results in DOCENTIA performance program-) and her experience has contributed immensely to her commitment to student learning and development. She has experience teaching at different Universities (in UK, Germany and Finland) and English Degree Programs at the University of Oviedo. She has international vocation and she has been Director for Europe and North America at the Vice-rectorate of Internationalisation (University of Oviedo).
