Abstract
Physical Education in Spain has undergone an enormous evolution throughout history and its current situation as a curricular subject can also be explained by the gymnastic systems and schools of the 19th and 20th centuries, but also as a consequence of 53 educational laws in 54 years. As a result of this amalgam of influences, two curricular approaches can be observed in practice today: multi-activity and biomedical. A third «way» has appeared in recent years promoted by social networks and the so-called «influencers» of Physical Education, generating what could be called a «social network» curriculum. Recently, an approach has emerged with intensity that reinforces the idea that the teaching-learning process in Physical Education classes should be focused on what «happens» to students, on what they «integrate» for their lives, and it is called Physical Education with Meaning. The future depends on this approach.
