Introducció: El consum d’alcohol, tabac i cànnabis, el joc d’apostes i l’ús de videojocs són les conductes addictives més prevalents en els joves, la qual cosa constitueix un important repte de salut pública. L’Ajuntament de Palma impulsà el Pla Estratègic Municipal de Prevenció de les Addiccions de Palma per explorar la situació dels adolescents i joves de la ciutat en matèria d’addiccions. Mètode: La mostra constà de 1.872 estudiants (51,5 % dones i 48,5 % homes) de set centres educatius de Palma. Emplenaren una bateria de preguntes per avaluar conductes addictives i variables que hi estan relacionades (àmbit familiar, oci, regulació emocional). Se’n va fer una anàlisi descriptiva, amb la comparació de mitjanes per sexe i edat. Resultats: El 65,4 % dels estudiants havien consumit alcohol alguna vegada a la vida; el 33,1 %, tabac, i el 22,9 %, cànnabis, sense diferències per sexe. Un 6,7 % havia jugat doblers en apostes, i un 84,4 % havia jugat a videojocs. Els homes mostraren millor reavaluació cognitiva de les situacions que no les dones, mentre que la supressió emocional com a estratègia de regulació emocional va ser més freqüent en els més grans. L’oci més freqüent era navegar per internet, mirar sèries i passar temps amb la família, i el grau de felicitat mitjà se situà al voltant de 6,7/10. Conclusions: El Pla Estratègic Municipal de Prevenció de les Addiccions de Palma proporciona una informació valuosa sobre conductes addictives i comportaments problemàtics dels joves de Palma. Aquests resultats destaquen la necessitat d’establir programes de prevenció dirigits a la població juvenil que abordin les conductes problemàtiques pròpies d’aquest període.
