Abstract

In this article we start from the review of the pedagogical-social work of Alejandro Casona, with the aim of transferring and applying some of his proposals in very specific social contexts of some Latin American localities, which could be experiencing socially unfavorable situations, mainly derived from his poverty or lack of resources. Through the analysis of the content of one of the 2etec produced by this 2etec in 1935, and what other researchers have been contributing in favor of the knowledge and recognition of this historical personality, we have carried out a retrospective study of both his life and his pedagogical proposals, which were put into practice during the period that he worked as Director of the People’s Theater within the Pedagogical Missions developed during the Second Spanish Republic. From this experience we have extracted a set of relevant actions, which after being reconverted into intervention proposals aimed at the current context, seek to achieve an improvement in the well-being and quality of life of the population. Its results are still unknown, although its implementation could undoubtedly contribute to greater emancipation and self-management of the peoples, by giving them a leading role in the detection and solution of their own needs, that could ultimatily lead them towards improvement and social transformation
