Abstract

Requirements engineering is one of the most important stages in the development of information systems, as it can define the success or failure of a project. Traditional development methodologies focus the requirements engineering stage on operational tasks, this makes the processes static and changes or evolution of the organization are not taken into account. Business Process Management (BPM) offers the possibility of building systems that evolve over time, which allows us to know their behavior, evaluate it, modify it or correct. The proposed objective is to corroborate that by implementing the BPM approach, better results are obtained in information systems implementation projects, managing to broaden the complete understanding of the processes, which can guide the definition of requirements with greater clarity by modifying the optics of responding from exclusive way to immediate functional software.
