Zusammenfassung

There is a growing trend towards improving teaching-learning processes in Higher Education. The acquisition of skills, experiences, knowledge as well as the ability to think critically is an essential process in any field of academic life. All these competencies must be cleverly designed and transmitted, and this constitutes one of the main responsibilities as a professor. We must carry out an effective communication of knowledge through innovative activities that help us to use our own abilities and transmit them to students and our colleagues. Scientific-teaching outreach activities are a good example of information transfer that is currently carried out by an increasing proportion of professors such as ‘The European Researchers Night’ or ‘ScienceWeek’. These activities, initially intended to promote the transfer of scientific knowledge to the public, can also be used to spread the importance of teaching innovative projects and strategies. It is increasingly necessary to improve teaching-learning processes and to update the university system. In this chapter we will address this issue and offer our personal experiences in the field, with the goal that ‘teaching innovation’ must be presented as one of the fundamental pillars of our professional activity, together with research and teaching.
