Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyse literary misogyny in Luigi Sarmento’s Lu vivu mortu (1734). In this essay the first part of the poem is analysed, starting from the purpose of Sarmento at the time of writing the work and from the first definition he gives of the woman, to then proceed to the anti-feminist verses that make up the work and that constitute a testimony of the basis of misogynistic thought: the religious dogma and the creation of the archetype of the character of Eve.
