Abstract
This article summarizes the steps followed to develop of a beach sands collection which will be displayed in the Museum of Geology of the University of Oviedo. The main body of the exhibit are 161 sand samples collected in different beaches from Asturias. These samples were desalinated and dried to be displayed in glasses made for the occasion. Also there were taken same microscopic images that will be showed together with photographs of the beaches visited. The asturian sands exhibition will be showed together with a worldwide sands collection and both will be complemented with definitions, studies and equipments.
