Resumen

This work aims the creation of a technical and scientific database supported by a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the management of the Courel Mountains UNESCO Global Geopark. The database integrates 49 vector coverages, including topographic, environmental, geological, archaeological, and ethnographic values, but also available accommodation and catering facilities, recreational and didactic infrastructures, as well as four raster coverages to integrate the relief variables. Thematic maps have been made using the database to highlight the geological value of the territory and its relationship with human activities, adapting the legend to the final purpose and the expected users. The process mainly involved reviewing and standardizing multidisciplinary data and designing educational resources. GIS enables a constant updating of the geodatabase contents, gathering all spatial datasets of the geopark
