Abstract
The popular feasts are a relevant scenario for the social creation and projection of gender cultural conventions, and also one of the less visited by researchers. This paper offers a proposal for a global, integrated analysis of the representations of women deployed in the festive rituals of contemporary Spain. The main goal is the establishment, at least provisional, of an interpretative large scale perspective which assemble the diverse case studies linked -more or less directly- to the theme, contributing to the proccess with some new information about the region of Asturias.
