Abstract

Hounsfield numbers, obtained by a non-destructive technique (X-ray computed tomography), have been used for monitoring the water movement inside a sedimentary rock frequently used in buildings of the Asturian Arquitectural Heritage. In capillarity tests the arrival of the water front, the penetration rate of the water, and the different water absorption degree in several zones of the rock have been estimated and the water movement has been quantitatively characterised.
