Zusammenfassung

This work analyzes the main cause of the pathologies that several private houses in Pandenes (eastern Asturias) has. Enclosure rotations and fissures were mainly developed. These buildings are located on a hillside with a 20º-25º slope that is primarily occupied of permotriassic marls and clays. These materials frequently special engineering issues related to stability slopes, foundations failures, etc. Geological and geotechnical characterization of the subsoil was carried out taking into account the interpretation of six rotary bored holes and six dynamic penetration tests in which the water table level was controlled. Four boreholes were adjusted to make inclinometric measurements intended to detect a potential landslide. Furthermore, eight clinometers were installed to identifying possible wall rotations in damaged buildings. All these information was combined in a dynamic data base implemented through a Geographic Information System (GIS) where several adequate digital terrain models was elaborated. Monitoring data reveals a slide surface at 6-8 m average depth that is affecting the weathered bedrock. This landslide, which has a speed of 0.3 mm per month, may cause differential settlements that trigger the observed pathologies.
