Abstract

We propose a photo-essay in which we approach from an a / r / tographic point of view the concept of Desanesthesia, name of the project that we developed since the 2018/2019 academic year to the present in the subject of Plastic Expression and its Didactics, taught at the Degree of Teacher and Teacher of Primary Education of the University of Oviedo. Starting from the disconnection of the students with respect to a contemporary artistic education and their concept of plastic and visual expression based on their own experience as students, we explore the idea of Desanesthesia from the opening of the senses and the perception of our environment as educational and artistic trigger. At the same time, we reflect on our teaching practice through the same concept. All this with the aim of generating an impact that makes us question the bases of our beliefs regarding what artistic education is and provoke a reaction that serves as new support on which to build their future teaching practice and rethink ours. In this way we intend to stimulate the gaze with respect to our surroundings, educate our senses and banish the anesthesia that disables us. Therefore, we face this photo-essay from three points of view: as a photographic creation in which to rethink our way of understanding the image in relation to this concept, as a visual inquiry around this idea, and as a tool to rethink our own. teaching practice. This proposal will be composed of photographs taken during the course of the classes in which, through artistic-educational proposals / learning scenarios based on sensory experiences, we work around issues such as estrangement, lies, or metaphor as triggers in themselves of that disnesthetic objective of the project.
