Abstract

Starting with Gregorio Marañon's very important book consecrated to the monographic study of Feijoo's ideas about biology, there have been many works dedicated to analyzing concrete aspects of his body of thought. The objective of the present paper, which takes as a starting point the current relevance of ethics applied to the professions, is to analyze his proposals regarding the ethical requirements for four professions of great social repercussion -- doctors, journalists, jurists, and men of letters -- showing their novelty and interest in the realm of ideas, due to their unequivocal enlightened bias, as well as in the realm of history and the configuration of this discipline.
