Abstract
Compositional variations in Sr-barites and Ba-celestites of Ba-Sr ore deposits in the Jurassic-Cretaceous sequence of Neuquén Province”. Intermediate compositions in the BaSO4- SrSO4 solid solution series are relatively rare in nature. Sulfate compositions are near to both end members of the isomorphic series in the overwhelming majority of cases. The Ba-Sr ore deposits of the Neuquén Province are distributed between the Chos Malal and Zapala localities. They are hosted by the Jurassic-Cretaceous carbonate-evaporitic sequence showing a strong stratabound character. The ore minerals are barite and celestite that contain variable amounts of Sr and Ba, respectively. In this paper, some crystallographic, mineralogical, and geochemical features of these minerals are presented
