El cambio climático en la agenda de seguridad de la Unión Europea

Resumen

Aunque la Estrategia Global para la Política Exterior y de Seguridad de la Unión Europea actualizó algunos antiguos planteamientos de seguridad europeos finalmente, los riesgos derivados del cambio climático no fueron incorporados a la lista de los principales desafíos de seguridad de esta organización. No obstante, con carácter reciente la Unión Europea ha asumido un cierto liderazgo con el objetivo de promover la seguridad climática en foros multilaterales, advirtiendo que esta cuestión, es uno de los principales retos contemporáneos para la seguridad internacional. Sin embargo, el desarrollo para integrar esta perspectiva en la política de seguridad de la UE es limitado, existiendo –en el momento presente- una importancia distancia entre las palabras y los hechos.
