Abstract

The problem of alcohol in woman presents with differential characteristics in the face of the same problem in man. The alcoholic woman is judged from the public and from the private space. The objective of this work is to perform an analysis of clinical, sociodemographic and heath care characteristic of women who are treated because their problems with alcohol. Seven women with an age range of 42-72 years were enrolled. An analysis of the clinical interviews of the last process was made through the clinical history. The results show a profile characterized by the consumption of fermented beverages; Related to negative emotions, relational problems and the need to escape; Feelings of guilt and misunderstanding; Cohabit with their own family or in solitude; The relationships that they establish do not usually imply a secure bond; Present sleep and eating disorders, anxiety, depressive symptoms and somatic complications. At the labor level they are in difficult situations.
