Resumo

The Rubiales sphalerite have low Fe content (X= 1.97%) and high zinc values (X= 63.58%). Their spacial distribution is homogeneous in the orebody. The Zn and Fe values have not relation with the kind of mineralization or the host rock. In the geochemistry of trace elements there are three different groups: (1) the Cu, Cd, Ag, Sb, Hg and Ga show a positive correlation between them. The highest contents occur around the "G"-"ZW" axis and the lowest in the border areas; (2) the Co, Ni and Ge don’t show a significative correlation with the other elements. Their spacial distribution is homogeneous in the orebody; (3) the results of As, Tl and In are below the detection limits.
