Abstract
A geoarchaeological research was achieved in 2001 in Cornellana Monastery involving both the geomorphological context and the stratigraphical study of the site. Methodology includes the elaboration and comparative analysis of series of geomorphological maps and the detailed stratigraphical study of archaeological sections. The monastery is located in a fluvial environment in which several changes in geomorphological features are recorded for the last 52 years, allowing us to define the suitability of the environment in order to develop further archaeological prospecting. The stratigraphical levels recognized from the archaeological research can be interpreted as the result of anthropic processes, suggesting that fluvial processes can be neglected in the historical evolution of the Monastery.
