Abstract

The present work is a contribution at the Illescas' andalucites deposit (Región Grau-Perú) specific knowledge included in a general study about non metallic minerals resources from Región Grau-Perú that the authors are carrying out from 1985. This paper includes results about physico-chemical characterization. Actual density, granulometric analysis, elementary chemical analysis and mineralogical analysis (TG, DTA and DRX), as well as those results about seven Illescas' andalucites samples from laboratory concentration tests. According to the promising preliminary results, complementary studies oriented to the determination of the true commercial deposit value, as well as at he obtention of synthetic muUite and high alumina refractories, are necessary
