Abstract

Given the recent change in legislation the education system is of great importance to know how they will be organize the measures to respond to diversity in schools. The purpose of this research focuses in how these issues are arrange in Compulsory Secondary Education in Asturias. In the investigation taken part 51 counselors of public schools, representing a 63.75% of the population. It has chosen to know the views of counselors because we considered they are experts in this matter. The used desing is ex pos facto. It has developed a questionnaire composed a Likert scale and open questions. The results confirm that the counselours perceive that the principle of attention to diversity is present in documents and in making decisions at the schools. Also reviewers that although there are consolidated measures for attention to the diversity in schools, it do perceive some limitations in the legislation for to attend all students. In conclusion, they consider that while the professors' attitude respect to to the diversity is positive, it is necessary overcome resistances respect to the methodology change in and improve initial and continuing teachers training.
