Resum

The meadows of mowing, being, are disappearing in all Europe and with them, a great associated biodiversity. The main cause of their disappearance are changes in land management (intensification of management where relief allows easy access) abandonment (in mountain areas or wet areas) and urban pressure suffered in the plots closest to the urban or rural nuclei with strong tourist pressure. The cartography of the land uses in diflerent dates and that has been compiled or realized for this work in the National Park of the Picos de Europa (N of Spain), demonstrates an important decrease of the mowing meadows (a reduction of 68,5 %) over the last six decades (between 1956 and 2017), a strong decrease ofthe crops in the area studied (by 99 %), as well as an increase in the meadows ofteeth (by 178.4%).
