Resumen

The Salave gold prospect is revisited through a new set of drill holes, NW of the previous ones. The hydrothermal alteration of the main granodiorite body is prophylitic and the observed are chloritization, sericitization, desilification, albitization, pyritization, and carbonatization. The high gold contents are related to the albitized and sericitized alterations, where the ore minerals are disseminated i.e. pyrite and arsenopyrite as more abundant species, stibnite and/or sphalerite ocassionally. The ore deposition took place along at least two stages. The first one was arsenic enriched; the second one was antimony enriched. Highest gold contents is related to the last stage.
