El empleo autónomo de las mujeres en España

Resumen

En este artículo se ofrece un panorama del empleo autónomo femenino en España. En primer lugar, se muestran algunos de los argumentos que tratan de explicar la menor propensión al autoempleo entre las mujeres. A partir de los datos de la EPA se explican las características del empleo autónomo femenino, caracterizado por una mayor presencia de mujeres universitarias que en el autoempleo masculino y por una mayor concentración en ramas de actividad (comercio, hostelería y actividades profesionales, científicas y técnicas). Finalmente, se explica la vinculación de esta forma de empleo con la conciliación de la vida familiar y laboral.
