Abstract
Nowadays, European countries are undergoing open data policies related to business information. Current paper provides an overview of what the situation is in the area of the European Union and Spain. To this end we have relied on the study of the legislation and in the analysis of independent assessments over open data disclosure. The examination of both cases may be of interest to policy-makers and business managers at other geographical areas where trade integration policies are being developed and new ways of disseminating information in business registers might be pondered.
