Abstract

In this article I aim to deepen understanding of the historical circumstances and rationale justifying the privilege that protects a mother who kills her son. The legal action Honoris remained in force in Spain until it was repealed by the Criminal Code of 1995.The concept of Honoris can be traced back to the Roman concept of Pudicitia which reflected economic and social discrimination against women, based on an assumption that women had inferior, fragile minds: fragilitas animi.
