Resumo

In this report, the reability and validity, of a new substance made of hidroxylapatite dense and half-hidrated sulphace calcium, Hidroxylapatite Bone Graft Plaster, HAPSET®, is determined in the rebuilding of bone periodontal faults in a period of time. A clinical experiment was carried our comparative between a control group (54 periodontal bone faults) and a group of cases (61 bone faults), previously treated both with surgical measures, and by placing Hidroxylapatite Bone Graft Plaster, HAPSET®, in the bone faults of group of cases. The following parametres were measured, the distance from the alveolar crest of the base of defect bony and the distance from the cemento enamel junction of the base of defect bony, in the moment of the initial surgery and 12 months after. A oclusal splint of acrylic established the reference point between the dates of both measures. The stadistic analysis of the results showed a improvement of the surgical parametres, with an adventage in favour of implanted areas of considerable importance, in all the cases. Thus, the Hydroxylapatite Bone Graft Plaster, HAPSET®, is confirmed as a trustworth y method of treatmen of bone periodontal faults.
