Resumen
Introduction: This study has two aims. Firstly, to analyze some sociodemographic data from a sample who requested consultation for gender dysphoria in Treatment Unit for Gender Disorder of Principado de Asturias (UTIGPA) between 2013 and 2014. Secondly, to perform a comparative study with another sample treated in this Unit between 2007 and 2009. Material and methods: A sample of 32 users, and a sample of 33 users for the comparative study were selected. The data was obtained from the medical records. Results: The sex / gender ratio is 1.66 / 1 for the group of male to female (MF). The mean age for the overall sample is 33.84 years. Single marital status and Spanish nationality were predominant. The same percentage of users has primary and secondary education. Conclusions: Compared to the first group, an increase in the sex/gender ratio for the group of MF was observed. The group MF requests consultation at earlier ages; however, the mean age is similar in both groups. There are more people who are married or with a couple and there is a decrease in the consultation request from foreign patients. Finally, an increase in the level of academic studies was noted
