Resumen

El estudio presenta un análisis de la agresión que las mujeres sufren por parte de los hombres que son maridos o parejas de hecho, ocupándonos de aquellos casos en que ellas han hecho manifiesta su petición de ayuda. La muestra está compuesta de sesenta y seis mujeres, cuyo contacto hemos realizado y solicitado a través de asociaciones y/o casas de acogida durante el año 2000. Los resultados son presentados con referencia a las características sociodemográficas, las agresiones sufridas, los motivos de éstas y sus consecuencias, identificando las estrategias de afrontamiento más utilizadas por las mujeres maltratadas.
